A week has already passed since my return to home and I can hardly believe it. It seems like a moment ago I was still walking the streets of Câmara de Lobos, with the wind in my hair and the sun on my skin.
Looking back on my EVS in Teatro Metaphora I cannot help but smile. In the short span of 6 months I have adopted to the local life, got accustomed to the native language and met the most amazing people, both international and local, while working on a environmental project and creating awareness of its preservation.
But beyond that I have grown on a personal and spiritual level and much more than that even, I have grown up. It’s amazing how a mere 6 months can flip your life upside down (in the best way possible) if you have an open mind and an open heart.
If I could, I would do it all over again. It’s an experience that has shaped me into a better version of myself and for that I will be forever grateful to each and every one of the beautiful souls who has been on this crazy journey with me. You know who you are 😉
If I can leave you with one final thought, it is this: never underestimate yourself! If you can dream it, you can achieve it. (Walt Disney)
Até breve Madeira
P.s.: I miss you, team Metaphora. And I have a question for all of you: What IS the BEST thing that happened to YOU today? 🙂 Beijinhos
